Geographic Expansion Continues
OKLAHOMA CITY, June 13 - SPI Petroleum LLC, a nationwide independent marketer of petroleum products, today announced it has acquired the assets and business operations of McLain Truck Service, Inc., a regional petroleum marketer headquartered in Midland, TX. Founded by Tommy McLain in the 1970's, McLain is a respected, long-time industry participant, providing refined products to commercial & industrial accounts throughout the region. McLain will operate as a division of Simons Petroleum, Inc., the operating company of SPI Petroleum.
The acquisition provides SPI additional physical infrastructure for the service of natural resource customers, principally drilling & exploration, in the very active West Texas and New Mexico market. An immediate positive impact on Simons' operational efficiencies will be realized. In addition, significant sales and market share growth is anticipated in the near-term as the acquisition solidifies Simons' ability to offer a nationwide single-source of supply to the drilling & exploration market.
