OKLAHOMA CITY , May 6, 2005 - SPI Petroleum LLC and Simons Petroleum, Inc., a nationwide independent marketer of petroleum products, today announced it has named Thomas Levescy as SPI's Secretary/Treasurer, and V.P. - Finance for SPI's subsidiary, Simons Petroleum, Inc. In his dual role, he will be responsible for the company's financial controls, as well as financial and administrative integration issues relating to the company's acquisition growth strategy.
Prior to joining SPI, Levescy served as Senior Director of Accounting and Controller for Saxon Publishers, Inc. where he was a key member of the team that negotiated the sale of the company to Harcourt Publishing, the world's second largest educational publisher. He also brings extensive audit experience from 11 years with Arthur Andersen.
